CSB is first and foremost a community, tight-knit and supportive. Every day, I see the people of CSB committed to guiding and encouraging each other to meet their academic and professional goals. And we're all so close because of the excellently challenging curriculum with professors that are both tough and fair. Ultimately, CSB is a program that is made from its excellent people, both peers and professors.

From the past two years, I realized the greatest part of CSB for me is it’s a program that not only enables you to pursue whatever your heart desires, but you also always have a group of people to support and accompany you. Whether it be niche parts of CS or something completely tangential like social dance, there's always a group of like-minded individuals to be there with you.

Best decision ever! I was hoping to join a college where I could work with other motivated people interested in all cs-business related things. Joining the CSB community and learning alongside these wonderfully talented and inspiring students has been the most rewarding (and challenging) experience in my life! Most students will say that the community of CSB is the most valuable part of the program. Freshman year was challenging but going through it made us all confident in our own abilities, reflective of where we need to improve, and more connected with one another. This program is truly the best I could ever ask for.

The essence of the college experience lies in the increased opportunities it presents, be it cultivating new relationships or expanding your knowledge. Texas CSB, without a doubt, offers an unparalleled range of diverse opportunities, empowering you to chase your aspirations and achieve greatness.

Alone, the computer science (CS) and business programs at UT Austin are among the best in the world, with incredibly bright and motivated professors and students. The CS program equips students with advanced coding skills, while the business program cultivates essential soft skills, such as giving presentations, making smart business decisions, or leading a team. Both programs offer concentrations such as machine learning, software engineering, cybersecurity, finance, and supply chain management, catering to a wide range of interests.

The honors programs within these disciplines raise the bar even higher, with tight-knit communities and access to honors-only classes and faculty. Texas CSB integrates these two prestigious honors programs, opening doors to countless interdisciplinary fields. Students in this program can become CS researchers who understand the business applications of their work, entrepreneurs with exceptional problem-solving skills, product managers who bridge the gap between software engineering and business goals, financial investors who leverage machine learning models for better decision-making, and much more.

Texas CSB students truly have access to some of the most sought-after career opportunities, positioning them to make significant contributions to the world. Personally, as someone interested in robotics research and pursuing a PhD after graduation, I have been thankful for the opportunities Texas CSB has given me. My CS degree has equipped me with the technical skills needed for my research, while the business degree has provided me with the soft skills and business background essential for a successful career.

Despite being relatively new and lesser-known, I firmly believe that Texas CSB will evolve into one of the most renowned and prestigious programs globally.

This is going to sound cliche, but I really do love the CSB community. I've made some of my best friends through the program and have some great memories from both in class and just life in general. The small class sizes are really nice, and I really do feel like my cohort year is my college family. Another thing that's really nice is the many different classes that CSB students take. I came into college knowing that I liked technology but not much else about specifically what I wanted to do. Even now, I'm still exploring the many fields that business and CS both have to offer and learning what best fits my interests and skills. The CSB curriculum is great because it allows me to explore like this without falling behind in academic completion.

Like many other CSB students, I’ve found that the best thing about the program has been the community. Everyone is willing to help each other out. Because there are so many students interested in a wide range of fields, there’s always someone with helpful advice no matter the subject. Specifically, I’ve been able to learn a lot about data science through my peers.

The sense of community in CSB is remarkably strong. Seeing the same faces every day in almost all my classes makes this huge university so much smaller. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a unique and enriching program.

Texas CSB is truly a unique experience. Students in this program go through honors classes in both Business and Computer Science. The classes are academically challenging, rewarding, and incredibly interesting. Being in smaller class sizes allows better, closer interactions with your peers and faculty. CSB allows opportunities and experiences that allow you to explore different career paths between the CS and Business worlds and pursue a path that interests you the most. The highlight of the program is the community. Not only are your CSB peers highly talented and motivated, but truly the best people to be on this journey with. The close-knit, family-like community that I’m a part of motivates me everyday in such an academically rigorous program. Students learn a lot going through this program, from strong technical skills, business vision and insight, grit and determination, collaborative spirit, and the value of human connection in these disciplines and in your personal life.
